me: my father is an architect. He is also a visiting lecturer in 2 engineering colleges for final year architecture students.

me: i have 55 Lakh in liquid assets.
vo: tell me the cash in ur bank accnt?
me: 3.5 L in savings, 13L in ppf, 5L fDs and arnd 35L in shares.

vo: gd morning..so tell me why LA?
me: blah..blah
vo:oook So u have been here once.
me: Yes sir..a month ago
vo: With the same I-20 or a different one?
me: same I-20
vo: so How r u going to pay the fees?
me: Sir, My parents r my sponsorers. They have 40L in their savings accnt.Last time The VO asked for all the funds(fees) in the form of cash while mine was in the form of fds ppfs and shares. So now my parents have sold a part of their shares and broken a few FDs to cover the amount.
vo: See.. what happens is generally ppl lend money from others just to show the fee amnt in their bank. Is dat the case wid u as well?
me: No sir..All that money is of my parents only. I have all the receipts proof for all the new transactions.
vo: Lets see
I had prepared a set of four transactions with the counter file and receipts intact and xeroxes of previos FDs. n made a covering letter which summarizes all the details.
vo: so All transactions done on 22nd itself.
me: Yes Sir, We had all the money in ready format. So my father dint waste any time in converting those assets into cash.
